Terms and Conditions
Terms of Business for Services Effective May 2026.
Little Tails Pet Care (hereafter referred to as “LTPC”, “we”, “our” or “us”) is a
one-person entity that provides animal related services including dog walks,
drop-in pet visiting (collectively known as “services”). Services of which are
offered via www.littletailspetcare.co.uk where clients can analyse, enquire
and/or request services.
1.0 Terms and Conditions - General
1.1. An initial introductory visit and assessment will take place with all animal(s)
prior to using services by LTPC. LTPC reserves the right to refuse to provide
services for any pet where it is deemed, in their absolute discretion, to be, or
potentially be, dangerous or disruptive.
1.2. The Client agrees that on booking services for their pet(s), LTPC has relied
on the clients representation that their pet(s) are in good health and have
not harmed or shown aggressive or threatening behaviours to any individual
or any other pet, and the Client agrees to notify LTPC immediately of any
behaviours by their animal that are unwelcome, aggressive, or dangerous
and that has the potential to cause harm to any other individual or pet.
1.3. The Client must inform and be transparent regarding any allergies or
intolerances that their pet may have.
1.4 LTPC reserves the right to refuse service for aggressive animals.
1.5. LTPC will ensure that all reasonable care is taken to look after your pet,
and whilst we will make every effort to ensure that your pet is well looked
after in your absence, LTPC cannot be held liable for any loss, injury or death
to an animal inside or outside of the home whilst in our care.
1.6. LTPC will ensure that all appropriate insurance is maintained, including
Public Liability Insurance and Care Control and Custody of Animals Insurance.
The insurance covers LTPC for the duration of the services selected, and only
for the agreed service.
1.7. The Client is responsible for the full cost of treatment of any injuries or
illness that their animal receives whilst under the care of LTPC, including any
other associated costs e.g. call-out charges.
1.8. The Client must provide LTPC with the name and contact number of
someone who can be contacted in emergencies and who is capable and
authorised to make decisions about their animal in the event of emergency. If
the contact is not available, the Client authorises LTPC to seek such
veterinary advice and/or treatment and make decisions (on veterinary
advice) that is in the animals best interest. Where possible, this will be carried
out by the Client’s preferred veterinary practice and emergency veterinary
practice, although this cannot be guaranteed (e.g. in an emergency when the
pets primary vet is not available) and the Client accepts that LTPC may use
any registered vet if required. The Client agrees to pay all such costs
immediately upon collecting their animal, or by agreement with LTPC. LTPC will
always endeavour to contact the Client, or emergency contact prior to
independently seeking veterinary advice and/or treatment as necessary.
1.9. The Client agrees to provide keys or access to any animals for the agreed
service and appointment. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of that
day’s service, and will be paid for in full by the Client. LTPC ensures that all
keys provided are kept securely and will not be stored with identifying
address details. The Client should advise of the use of burglar alarms or any
other security devices. The client must ensure that animals within the house
that are not allowed access outside (cats or other small animals) are kept
away from access doors.
1.10. The Client consents to their animal being photographed and videoed, and
to videos or photos being used in any media or marketing by LTPC. All such
media will remain the property of LTPC.
2.0. Bookings
2.1. Bookings will be confirmed after an initial visit and assessment has been
completed, and the client has signed agreement of the Terms and Conditions.
2.2. The Client must inform of any changes of information provided on the
booking form, including contact numbers, emergency contact details, pets
care needs or any other pertinent information.
2.3. Bookings can be made via email, website, social media or telephone,
subject to availability.
2.4. LTPC will provide 2 months notice of any staff holidays greater than 7 days
to allow clients time to make alternative arrangements.
3.0 Payments
3.1. LTPC prices are published on the website and social media, and can be
provided to the Client on request. Please note that our rates are competitive
to the service provided and are non-negotiable.
3.2. LTPC accepts payment via bank transfer or cash. Bank details will be
provided in an invoice.
3.3. Full payment for services is required on the first day of the Clients
booking. If the Client does not provide payment by this date, then your
booking(s) will be cancelled and alternative arrangements will need to be
made.
3.4. LTPC reserves the right to suspend services until payment has been made
in full.
3.5. LTPC reserves the right to request a non-refundable deposit for services
booked.
4.0 Cancellations
4.1. The Client may cancel the service up to 48 hours prior to the day of the
service and the service will not be charged for, or a refund will be provided if
payment has already been made. The payment can also be rolled forward to
a future booking.
4.2. If the required notice is not adhered to, LTPC reserves the right to charge
in full for the cancelled service.
4.3. LTPC appreciates that there are unexpected circumstances that cannot
be anticipated, interfering with the notice period set out in these Terms and
Conditions. Please notify LTPC as soon as possible should such a
circumstance arise.
4.4. LTPC reserves the right to cancel any service on short notice in the event
of, but not limited to, illness, accidents, extreme weather (e.g. heavy snow or
extreme heat) and other unforeseen circumstances. In such an event, LTPC
will provide as much notice to the Client as possible and services will not be
charged for.
4.5. LTPC reserves the right to cancel the booking/service at any time and
with immediate effect if the pet does not respond well to the walker/carer
and/or other pets, or if it is felt that the working relationship is becoming
untenable or unworkable.
5.0 Privacy Policy
5.1. Please refer to www.littletailspetcare.co.uk for a copy of LTPC Privacy
Policy document.
6.0. Pet Services
6.1. All dogs walking with LTPC will undergo a trial period to ensure they are
adequately trained and socialised.
6.2. LTPC may transport your dog(s) to and from a suitable walking location
(up to 30 mins) by vehicle and therefore your dog should have the ability to
travel in vehicles. LTPC will ensure the safe and secure transport of all dogs.
6.3. All dogs will be exercised on a lead unless prior agreement is made and an
‘Off Lead Consent Form’ has been signed. Off-lead exercise will remain at the
discretion of the LTPC staff.
6.4. All dogs being exercised must be up to date with vaccinations, flea and
worming regimen, and the Client will provide a copy of a valid vaccination
certificate.
6.5. All dogs attending LTPC services must be microchipped with all information
up-to-date, and the client must provide their own secure leads and
harnesses, with appropriate tags.
6.6. The Client accepts that even if their dog has been vaccinated against
Kennel Cough, there is still a chance that their dog can contract Kennel
Cough. The Client agrees that they will not hold LTPC responsible for their
dog(s) contracting Kennel Cough while attending services.
6.7. LTPC does not provide services to pets with any form of contagious,
infectious, or otherwise communicable diseases. The Client agrees to take
necessary precautions to ensure that their pet is continuously free from
contagious, infectious, or otherwise communicable diseases. The Client
agrees to notify LTPC immediately of any contagious, infectious, or otherwise
communicable diseases or conditions that their animal has had exposure to,
or is infected by. LTPC reserves the right to cancel services until they are
satisfied the condition is resolved.
6.8. In the event of a pet going missing, LTPC will notify the Client and advise
them to help with a search, should they be missing for longer than 30
minutes.
6.9. LTPC will apply their best personal judgement in the event of extreme
weather conditions (e.g. extreme heat, thunderstorms, snow, flooding), or
the pet becoming ill, injured, distressed, or refusing to walk, to take the
necessary action to ensure the safety of both dogs and walker. This may
include, but is not limited to, cutting walks short or providing an alternative
drop-in visit.
6.9. If LTPC, upon collecting the dog, notices that they are visibly unwell
and/or sick, or refuses to walk (e.g. due to rain), LTPC reserves the right to
cancel the service, giving the pet the chance for a toilet break and
immediately notifying the Client.
6.10. LTPC will make every effort to drop off a clean dog after their walk, but
cannot guarantee the dogs full cleanliness or that they will be smell-free.
Clients are asked to leave towels by access doors for towelling down. Clients
will be notified of all poo rolling and/or extreme muddiness. LTPC staff will
always remove dirty shoes or wear protective shoe covers prior to entering
homes.
6.11 Bitches may not attend LTPC services whilst in season or pregnant. LTPC
reserves the right to refuse services if these criteria are met.
6.12. LTPD will take the necessary steps to ensure that your home is safe and
secure in your absence, however LTPD cannot be held responsible for any
burglaries or accidents/damage caused by your animals.
6.13. LTPC will follow instructions for administering medications as directed, but
cannot be held responsible for complications that arise as a result.
6.14. The Client must provide all items necessary for your animals to be
adequately cared for in the clients absence. If additional supplies are needed
in the Clients absences including but not limited to food, litter, bedding,
medication, a receipt will be obtained, and the Client will be responsible for the
reimbursement of the cost.
