About Little Tails

Hi everyone! I'm Sophie, the face behind Little Tails Pet Care!

 

The foundation of Little Tails Pet Care started long before it began, with our first rescue cat Pico. My partner and I took him off the streets after what the vet assumed had been roughly 7 years as a stray; he didn't have a great start in life and it took a long time for us to gain his trust and deal with the many health issues he had developed. Pico opened my eyes to how rewarding a life in animal welfare could be, so after a good few years worrying about the idea of changing my career, I did just that. 

 

I've worked in both pet welfare and the veterinary sector across various disciplines. I've spent time as a pet foster carer and have experience volunteering for local rehoming charities; all of this combined has given me a comprehensive understanding of individualised animal care. Each animal across all species are different, and this means that my approach is tailored to their specific needs.  

I have 7 rescue animals of my own, and each of them have different daily medications and routines. Through this (and my previous history), I have experience in oral and injectable medications, wound management and nebulising small animals. 

I've found it hard leaving my furry family members with someone that is reliable, and who covers multiple species. I soon realised I can't be the only pet parent who feels this way, so this is where Little Tails was born; to give pet parents the break they deserve, leaving their pets (no matter how small) in hands they can trust.
